I loved this book. The insight it provides into the brain and how motivation works are invaluable. While it addresses motivation in regards to children of all ages, I thought it was most well suited for parents of teenagers. That being said, I thought much of it applied generally to all ages.
The information about the science behind motivation is easily digestible and very interesting. The big takeaways that I think parents may be looking for are these:
Stop being anxious. Take care of your self.
Natural consequences rule the day.
Motivation is born from independent choice making.
This is one of the best parenting books I’ve come across in a long while. :D
